What to Do, What's On

Normier is situated in the Auxois region and offers some of France's most gorgeous countryside. History is on the doorstep, villages, castles, churches, the Burgundy vineyards and of course if you want to do nothing  La Cabane  are the perfect place to stay.

La Butte de Thil

5mn from Précy sous Thil beautiful view point overlooking the Auxois and the Morvan hills. The Medieval chateau (the oldest in France) from the 9h to the 15th century. You can visit it at the week ends.

 

St Thibault

 3km from the house with it's remarkable gothic XIIIe century church.

 The medieval town of Semur en Auxois on the river Armançon. Beautiful place and plenty to visit..

Medieval village, listed as one of the hundred prettiest villages in France and don't forget to visit the famous Aniseed factory and it's lovely shop !

Museum   Alésia

Site of the historic Battle of Alésia, the museum marks the position of the Roman army, under Julius Caesar, and its encampment surrounding the Gauls under Vercingetorix in 52 B.C.

Abbaye de Fontenay

Founded in 1118 by Saint Bernard, is one of the oldest cistercien abbeys in France.

Château de Bussy Rabutin

The 16th and 17th century château is surrounded by gardens with a collection of 17th painting collected by Roger Bussy Rabutin, a cousin of Mme de Sévigné.
